Mumbai Attacked

I use this platform not to criticize the government (as it is not going to make any difference to them) but use it hoping that some of the following questions would be answered:-

1) What is happening to our intelligence? Why they been sleeping?

2) Is the government going to do more than just “take up the issue with Islamabad”?

3) What is happening to the security at our borders? Is our country a park where such barbaric people can just walk in or sail in?

4) When would it be high time to have specialized units to deal with such situations in every major city so that times is not wasted in flying them in from Delhi?

5) Considering the kind of arms and ammunition used in today’s world, shouldn’t our police be much more equipped? (Are not the days of the ‘lathi’ long gone?)

6) When would it be high time to have adequate medical facilities to deal with casualties of such magnitude (Do the deceased and injured need to be carried by there hands and legs?)

7) Is it not high time for Shivraj Patil to show some dignity on his part and do all of us a favor by resigning?

God Bless all them who are not with us today, those who are missing, those who are fighting for their lives and our forces who risk their lives for us.

  1. I don't think you can point fingers and neither should the Indian goverment point one at Pakistan. There is no government that can keep terrorism at bay. Terrorists unfortunatly are cowards who'd prefer to place innocent lives at ransom rather than fighting an equally armed group of people. Fighting cowards, as you can see, is all the more tougher. Its a abstract war - you are fighting an unknown enemy with no uniform and unorganised groups with no discernable agenda. The most any goverment could do is to expect people to be alert and provide a means to report suspicious activity to have it investigated. This mechanism unfortunately does not exist. We citizens need to be on our guard and place a premium on our security - not expect the goverment to do so. Rmember, its we who fight the war on terrorism not goverments. I'd like to stress on "we".

  2. yes,i would rather critize the govt.first then us.it is govt's deep slumber that restrains it from taking action fast.look atUS govt.how well they r handling this problem.have we heard anything so serious after 9/11?here we face a fresh new tragedy within few months time.i think we need to create public opinion and awareness to push the govt.to do what it needs to for the country.finally,Shivraj Patil has resigned which was long waited by us.its happy news, but what next? its only GOD bless us.we need to become more united, focussed and active in the governance of the country,in one way or the other.
